On July 30, 2020 the COVID-19 grace period, including the waiver of disconnection for bill nonpayment and suspension of late fees, ended in North Carolina. Some customers have accumulated unpaid balances for water usage since March 2020. ONWASA understands that COVID-19 created financial hardship and the utility is assisting customers by allowing customers to pay past-due balances in 6 equal payments over six months. Payments on past-due balances accumulated during the COVID-19 grace period can be made with no late fees or penalties as long as payment arrangements are followed. Ongoing usage charges continue to apply to all customers.
