[ARCHIVED] Possible Water Discoloration

Beginning Wednesday, June 19, 2013, ONWASA will no longer use the Half Moon Booster Pump Station on Gum Branch Road. By-passing this pump station may cause some temporary discoloration in water for consumers from McAurther Estates on Gum Branch Rd. all the way to Maynard Manor on Gum Branch Rd., also affecting Ramsey Rd. from Gum Branch Rd. to Drummer Kellum Rd., as well as Deefield Subdivision and Raintree Subdivision. Even though the water is safe and in no way harmful, discolored water should not be used for laundry or cooking. If discoloration should occur, ONWASA suggests consumers run cold water through a bathtub faucet for approximately 8 to 10 minutes or until the water runs clear. If the water does not clear up, consumers are asked to contact ONWASA at 455-0722.
