Due to the NC Department of Transportation road widening/waterline relocation project on Piney Green Road, some residents along the Piney Green Road from Birchwood Subdivision up to Hwy. 17 including all adjacent roads and subdivisions as well as the Pumpkin Center area and New Bern Hwy. may experience sediment and/or discolored water due to contractors conducting final testing to the Pump Station on Piney Green Road. ONWASA crews will flush the lines in the Piney Green area clearing up any reported sediment and/or discoloration in the water. The water is not harmful. If you should notice discolored water in your home, turn the largest faucet in your house on cold, usually a tub faucet, and let it run approximately 8 to 10 minutes until the water runs clear.
