ONWASA Customers in parts of Swansboro may experience periods of low or no water pressure on Tuesday, March 27, 2012, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. as ONWASA crews make repairs to the waterline. This will only affect customers in the Hurst Harbor Subdivision, Hurst Harbor North, Elizabeth Way, Swans Bluff Subdivision, Williamsport Subdivision, Halls Creek North-Section 1, as well as Halls Creek Rd. off of 4H Camp Rd., Tidal Ct., and Hammocks Beach State Park.
Following the restoration of water pressure to these customers, ONWASA will implement a boil water advisory for those affected by the water outage. This is strictly a precaution. There is no indication of any contamination, and ONWASA will notify residents when laboratory testing confirms that the water system is operating normally. Once water is restored, it will be at least 24 hours until testing is complete.
When a boil water advisory is issued, ONWASA encourages residents to boil all water used for human consumption (including drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes or food preparation) or use bottled water. There is no need to boil water for showering or bathing.
We value our customers and appreciate your patience while these improvements are made to the water system in your area.
