CURRENT LOW PRESSURE & DISCOLORED WATER ALERTS

Below you will find the current listings for low pressure and/or discolored water due to maintenance. Please see Alerts & Advisories (search by address) for all other service interruptions.

ONWASA contractors will be completing necessary maintenance to its Bear Creek tank beginning Sunday, November 27, 2022, for approximately two weeks. During this time customers in the Bear Creek area may experience some water discoloration or reduced water pressure. If you experience water discoloration, run cold water from the largest fixture in the building (normally the tub faucet) for 5 to 10 minutes. This should flush the plumbing in the building. There are no planned outages associated with this work, and any reduced pressure should be of a short duration. While discolored water does not pose a health hazard it can stain laundry. Please wait until water is clear before laundering. Thank you for your understanding as we improve the water system. If you have any questions, please contact ONWASA at 910-455-0722.

The Pumpkin Center VFD will be testing hydrants on New Bern HWY on 12/1/2022 beginning at 8:00 AM. As a result of the testing those in the area may experience a temporary discoloration of their water and/or lower than normal water pressure. Often times discolored water can be cleared by turning on the cold water faucets in your home for a period of 5 to 10 minutes. If the water does not become clear, please contact us at (910) 455-0722. While discolored water does not pose a health hazard it can stain laundry. Please wait until water is clear before laundering.
