The ONWASA safety program is focused on reducing or eliminating the potential for the occurrence of accidents, injuries, illnesses, and their related costs to the organization in lost revenue and manpower. The program provides direction on policies, procedures, and practices which focus on the safety, health, and welfare of ONWASA employees as well as the public while assuring compliance with local, state and federal rules and regulations.
The safety program will outline safety-based policies, plans, practices, and operational procedures to facilitate risk reduction through hazard assessment which will be used to establish process, engineering, and procedural controls along with safety awareness, and training. The program will incorporate the use of employee participation, statistical data, and continuous evaluation of all work center tasks and environments in order to monitor program effectiveness and implement continuous improvements as required.
The program is managed by the ONWASA Safety / Risk Manager with recommendation and support from the ONWASA Safety Committee members.
